Amber Valley and Erewash AC member Jessica has reached the semi-finals of the World Junior Championships, finishing fifth, since joining the DIS programme.
She is hoping to achieve a podium position at the BUCS Championships and selection for the European Under-23 Championships in the 2015 season.
Selected onto the DIS programme in 2015, Alex is a relative newcomer to 400m hurdles having only trained and competed in this for one season, but quickly earned the qualification standard for English Schools and the England Athletics Championships.
His UK ranking of 15th belies the fact that all but three athletes above him have all been in the top end of the Under-17 age group.
Amber Valley heptathlete, Niamh was recruited onto the DIS programme in 2014 after achieving a top five national rankings in heptathlon, 400m Hurdles and High Jump. In January 2015, Niamh was invited to her first international completion for GB, achieving a third place at the Under-20s International Combined Events Championships in France.
Caitlin is a discus thrower who won a gold medal at the English Schools’ Championships in 2015.
The member of Amber Valley and Erewash Athletics Club, from Shirland, hopes to establish herself as a first year Under-17 athlete and represent England in the annual SIAB Schools Home International.
Amber Valley and Erewash AC multi-event competitor Emily finished in sixth place in the 100m at the 2015 English Schools’ Athletics Association National Championships.
She is also ranked in the top 50 in the country for 60m indoors, 200m, 300m and heptathlon.
