This month sees the launch of monthly Connect evenings, a new way of bringing our valued supporters and sponsors together with other local businesses and organisations who may want to support us in future.
Head of operations for DIS, Chloe Maudsley, said: “If you are in business, they’ll be a great way to network and meet new connections. Our aim is to have a relaxed evening and listen to a guest speaker from the DIS team. Some of our athletes will be attending and you will be able to meet them and join a Q&A session with them.”
Connect evenings, are being sponsored by Invictus Communications, who specialise in helping small businesses with leased telephone lines, business mobile phone contracts and new phone systems.
The launch event is on Wednesday, September 18, from 6pm to 7.30pm at the University of Derby Sports Centre, on the Kedleston Road campus. Guest speaker will be Andy Wood, co-founder of DIS and now its head of performance. As one of the world’s best badminton coaches, Andy delivered five Olympic cycles overall – three for Great Britain as Olympic head coach, one for Bulgaria and one for Australia. His talk will be on ‘How To Create Champions’.
